90.9 WGUC’s educational outreach program, Classics for Kids®, introduces an all new website at classicsforkids.com which includes an enhanced experience for phone and tablet. The site has all new games and interactive features to create a fun way for parents and teachers to share their love of classical music with their kids and students.
The new games include:
Note Names: Use the letters of the notes, both Treble and Bass Clef, to form words!
Instruments of the Orchestra: A fun new way to see and hear the Instruments of the Orchestra.
Composer Timeline: Journey through time to find classical music composers and the events of the day.
Composers by Country: An interactive map to explore the composers of the world.
WGUC broadcasts Classics for Kids® each weekend on 90.9 WGUC and wguc.org at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and 6:00 p.m.Sunday. The program is also available for listening and downloading as a podcast at classicsforkids.com.
Also found at the website are resources for parents and FREE lesson plans for teachers, all based on national and state educational standards.
Classics for Kids® and classicsforkids.com are services of 90.9 WGUC with support from the Charles H. Dater Foundation, the Marge & Charles J. Schott Foundation, and NAXOS. Hookshot Creative LLC participated in the development of the classicsforkids.com interactive features.
