Cincinnati, Ohio, January 3, 2015 -- The Charles H. Dater Foundation joins her family and friends in mourning the loss of Foundation director emeritus Dorothy Krone, who died Friday January 2. She succeeded her late husband Paul Krone as a board member in 1995 and served until moving to emeritus status in 2005. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 17 at 2:00
PM at Knox Presbyterian Church, 3400 Michigan Avenue, in Hyde Park.
Mrs. Krone served 10 years as an active member of the Dater Foundation's board. A life-long Cincinnatian, she grew up in the Clifton area and attended Walnut Hills High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati. She worked briefly for the Cincinnati Board of Education after college. As a full-time mother of four children, she made time for extensive volunteer commitments. She was a reading tutor at Kilgour School, a Cub Scout den mother, a Brownie leader, a Sunday school teacher at Knox Presbyterian Church, a pre-school teacher at Hyde Park Community Church. She also served as a volunteer for the Cincinnati Art Museum and the Hill and Dale Garden Club. After her children were grown, she returned to the University of Cincinnati and earned a temporary teacher certificate. Her husband Paul Krone was a founding member of the Foundation's board who died in 1995. She lived in the Hyde Park area of Cincinnati.
