Youth Development Program The Winton Place Youth Center is a non-profit youth center located in the Spring Grove Village neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Its mission is to enable children to make positive contributions to the larger community now and as adults. The after-school and summer programs nurture academic, social and emotional competence for students, ages 5-15. The Center wants students to feel that they have all the tools they need to succeed. These students are of various ages, abilities, and incomes and all require different means of support. Four days per week, academic assistance is provided to youth who attend the center. Workshops provide out-of-school lessons that teach students valuable life and social skills that will allow them to be empathetic, compassionate beings. Learning how to deal with emotions, practice healthy behaviors and building self-worth is crucial to supporting educational success.  The center works with local colleges and high schools to provide tutoring for youth. By the end of the school year, 100% of youth achieved grade promotion and 96% of showed socio-emotional growth via the DESSA assessment.
