Autism Learning Program

The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati puts Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.  The YMCA’s Autism Learning Program serves children who, because of their disabilities, are unable to benefit from the educational programs offered by local schools or need additional supports.  The program provides specialized services that meet children’s individual needs, including educational, therapeutic, and recreational programming, and that allow children to improve their language skills, motor development, and social interactions.  A Dater Foundation grant helped provide scholarships to students in need, as well as upgrades to the classrooms at the Clippard YMCA designated for one-on-one applied behavior analysis, speech, occupational, music, and sensory therapies.  This past year, the Clippard YMCA served 18 children in year-round autism programming, about 40 kids in the summer program, and approximately 75 individuals attended our Autism Family Nights, hosted every other month.
