Roof Replacement Project
Redwood, based in Fort Mitchell, helps children with and without disabilities and adults with disabilities to reach their highest potential by providing childcare, preschool, therapy (speech, occupational, physical, behavior supports), employment programs, and adult day programs. Thanks to the Dater Foundation and other funders, Redwood replaced a 16,813 sq. ft. section of its roof in 2018. This allowed Redwood to continue providing services uninterrupted. Redwood’s services address issues such as the low rate of kindergarten readiness in Northern Kentucky and the high unemployment rate among adults with disabilities. Redwood’s impact in 2019 was indicated by outcomes such as 88% of children enrolled for at least 6 months demonstrating progress in the attainment of fine and gross motor skills. In recognition of its onsite store, Redwood received the 2019 Flywheel Social Enterprise Award at the Social Venture Partners Fast Pitch competition.
