Celebrate Life 2020 Calendar Project
LifeCenter Organ Donor Network (LifeCenter) is a nonprofit organ procurement organization (OPO) and tissue recovery agency working to save, enhance and change lives through organ, eye and tissue donation. LifeCenter’s service area covers 16 counties within Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana serving 2.3 million people. For 17 years, LifeCenter’s Calendar project has grown to be an excellent supplemental outreach and educational tool. Consequently, thousands of people have been introduced to stories of those in the community who have been impacted by donation and transplantation. In addition to being displayed in more than 40 area hospitals, local businesses and homes, the calendar has been distributed to over 200 high schools and charter schools. LifeCenter’s Calendar project aids students at a time when they will be asked to consider organ, eye and tissue donation when getting their temporary driver’s license. In 2019, LifeCenter facilitated the recovery of 75 organ donors which resulted in 246 organs being transplanted and managed the recovery of 635 tissue donors which improved the quality of life of thousands in need of tissue transplants.
