Increasing Accessibility for Underserved Youth
As one of the premiere professional boychoirs in the United States, the Cincinnati Boychoir provides world-class, holistic music education to 200 boys around the region, and reaches thousands of audience members each year, through our core programming, collaboration with other arts organizations and community outreach.
Founded in 1965, and now located at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, the organization offers a choral curriculum that teaches not just musical skills but self-discipline, intellectual curiosity, leadership, empathy, cultural awareness and a spirit of volunteerism. And every one of the core ensembles tours.
The Boychoir has long held the practice that boys are not turned away for financial reasons, and this is made possible by support of donors like the Dater Foundation. In 2018-2019, financial assistance was provided to 21 families who otherwise would not have had the means to participate in the program.
