Community Education/Artist & Writer in Residence
The Art Academy of Cincinnati is known as one of America’s foremost colleges of art and design. The Academy is committed to outreach through Community Education to deliver excellence in visual arts and creative writing and to empower students to embrace their artistic abilities.
The Artist & Writer in Residence program enriches young lives by providing art education to grades 7 to 12. The program connects classrooms and Art Academy teaching artists to stimulate creativity and student growth in 21st Century skills such as critical thinking and problem solving. A Dater grant enabled the Art Academy to impact more than 4,500 students and their communities this year.
Artist & Writer in Residence provides a new perspective for students and educators alike. The classroom benefits from quality visual and literary arts instruction as well as exhibition opportunities. The program is offered free of charge to educators of 7th to 12th grade students and all materials are provided.
