Grant Application:
The Learning Center is now a 5-star (rated by Ohio Step Up to Quality) early childhood program in Price Hill. It operates from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, and serves ages 6 months to 12 years. Children are grouped into classrooms based on age and the programs are designed to serve each age group to ensure children reach appropriate developmental milestones. The Learning Center uses a holistic approach to support the growth of children during fine and gross motor skills development, language skills and literacy development and the development of cognitive, physical, social and emotional well-being. The Learning Center provides care for children and assists in educating families about healthy child development. The center also works with families on the importance of implementing at-home habits for maximum growth at each level both physically and mentally.
Goals/Objectives:
1) To provide quality care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers from low-income families living in Price Hill and the surrounding communities.
2) To offer significant early learning experiences that help children meet immediate developmental milestones, as well as prepare them for future academic/school success.
3) To construct healthy and supportive parent-child-teacher partnerships as an effective way to enhance learning experiences of children.
4) To encourage healthy and balanced lives by providing opportunities for physical activity, nutritious meals and an environment focused on developing creativity and a life-long love of learning.
Grant Evaluation Report:
Successful In positively impacting the educational progress of children considering the areas we can effectively positively influence. We realistically acknowledge that there are areas outside of our influence that have negative impact on a child’s ability to progress and develop in all areas.

Short-term Outcome
-100% of youth enrolled in the program are current with immunizations and receive appropriate preventative health care, tests and nutritious meals.
Intermediate Outcomes
-85% of youth attending the program at The Learning Center for a minimum of six months demonstrate progress in the attainment of fine and gross motor skills.
-80% of youth attending for a minimum of six months demonstrate progress in cognitive and language skills.
-75% of youth attending for a minimum of six months demonstrate progress in social and emotional development.
Long-term Outcomes
-85% of youth attending The Learning Center for a minimum of one year demonstrate progress in the attainment of fine and gross motor skills.
-80% of youth attending for a minimum of one year are assessed age appropriate in cognitive and language skills.
-75% of youth attending for a minimum of one year are assessed age appropriate in social and emotional development.
-100% of all youth enrolled continuously for at least two years proceed to kindergarten prepared for success.

-100% of children received nutritious meals and snacks consistently through the program during operational hours and additional items provided in weekend bags.
-Additionally, 85% of children attend the center for at least 3 months.

DESSA Results
-81% of children enrolled 4 months or more scored typical or higher on the total protective factors for social resiliency.
-85% of children enrolled 6 months or more scored typical or higher on the total protective factors for social resiliency.
-74% of children enrolled showed gains in total protective factors for resiliency scores from pre to post testing.
