Approximately two years ago, we began a pilot program, placing facility/therapy dogs within our local community schools to provide therapeutic interventions.  To date, we have 32 permanent school placements and should have 40 placements by seven spring internships in process.end of 2021.  The dogs we consider for these therapy jobs have gone through at least two years of specialty training and have the capacity to assist and participate within the school system to help support children with a wide variety of needs and provide overall support to students and staff alike.  Response to this program has been overwhelming and extremely gratifying.
