Grant Evaluation Report:

Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding and Horsemanship is thrilled with the overall success of the project. Each program served the targeted, planned audience. To top it all off, one of our Special Olympians won a silver medal at the World Games held in Orlando.

CTRH successfully hosted equine assisted services, including the following:
- adaptive recreational riding
- hippotherapy (occupational and physical therapy utilizing equine movement)
- family fun with horses

Skills developed lead to integration into typical community riding programs as well as transfer to other activities of daily living.

Our primary goals are to enrich the quality of life while offering a unique, enjoyable experience. While specific client goals are as varied as the therapeutic needs of the individuals who participate, outcomes can be life changing.

Some of our current participants have reported outcomes including, but not limited to, the following:
- Increased speech, including use of full sentences and improved use of one-syllable words and sounds
- Increased socializing with decreased anxiety and decreased avoidance
- Increased focus and eye contact
- Improved balanced and walking
- Strengthened flexibility, endurance and core strength
- Improved motor functionality, including writing, shoe tying and other fine motor skills
