Operation School Bell
Grant Application:
Operation
School Bell®, our signature program, began in 1998 and has been growing year by
year. We currently have agreements with 45 elementary and parochial schools in
the Greater Cincinnati area to which we provide clothing and hygiene items for
children in grades K to 6 who are eligible for free and reduced lunch. Each
school receives pants, shirts, underwear, socks, fleece jackets and belts which
are distributed to both boys and girls. The schools also receive toothpaste and
toothbrushes, girl's deodorant, boy's deodorant and packages of feminine pads
which are distributed to those children in need. We have served over 61,072
students since the program's inception.

It is our community partners who convey the need for Operation School Bell’s clothing and hygiene items. Stated very succinctly, one school said, “Children learn better when they are wearing clean new clothes that fit them.” Another noted, “We have many children who may need uniforms or grow out of their uniforms and their families are not in a financial space to purchase replacements. When children have fresh well fitting clothing they feel better about themselves and therefore have a better school experience.” One comment that sums up the success of Operation School Bell is, “Needs are met as soon as we notify you’”. To date during this 2022-2023 academic year, 6450 students have been recipients of our products. Since its inception, Operation School Bell has served 67,522 students to dat
