Autism Learning Program

The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati provides youth development programs for children of all ages and backgrounds. At the Clippard Family YMCA, the Autism Learning Program (ALP) serves children with autism spectrum disorder who, because of their disabilities, are unable to benefit from the educational programs offered by local schools or need additional supports. The ALP provides specialized services that meet children’s individual needs, including educational, therapeutic, and recreational programming, all of which help children improve their language skills, motor development, and social interactions. Support from the Dater Foundation allowed the ALP to purchase educational program supplies for children in the program. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the program was shut down; however, staff continued communicating with ALP families during this time to ensure their children had the appropriate supports to continue making progress at home.
