Virtual Learning Adventures

WAVE Foundation is on a mission to excite, engage and educate the community about the wonders of aquatic life and the importance of conservation.  During COVID, when its community learners and teachers needed fun, interactive resources to boost engagement during remote learning were made available. .A grant from the Dater Foundation supported efforts to broadcast animal-based programs throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

Virtual Learning Adventures brought science alive in living rooms, at kitchen tables and in studies, which is appropriate as science happens everywhere.  Most importantly, virtual learning adventures have been an effective tool for teachers and have been highly engaging for students.
Throughout remote and blending learning, WAVE has been able to reach over 7,000 students thus far.  Additionally, professional development for 160 teachers was provided.  One teacher wrote, “The VLA programs are an awesome resource to implement and make science lessons engaging and accessible during remote learning.”
