Back to School Program

Valley Interfaith Community Resource Center's (VICRC) mission is to partner with the community and provide the necessary resources to build self-sustainability in the lives of those in need.  The vision is to create a Sustainable Tomorrow for those experiencing generational and extreme cycles of poverty.

For more than 55 years, VICRC has helped families help themselves by providing emergency food and clothing.  Utilizing its food and clothing services, VICRC is building engagement and is connecting clients with community resources to address their need for mental health support, elder care, educational resources, housing support, addiction services and financial literary.  VICRC serves the underserved communities in Hamilton County mostly in the upper Mill Creek Communities that include Lincoln Heights, Lockland, Reading, Arlington Heights, Elmwood Place, St. Bernard, Carthage, Hartwell and many more.

Each year, thanks to the support of the Dater Foundation, VICRC has provided a BACK-TO-SCHOOL program that ensures the financial stressors of back-to-school costs experienced by those in extreme poverty are lessened.  It also helps ensure that the first days of school are started with enthusiasm instead of stress from lacking.  This effort releases teachers from the stress of picking up and filling in the gap of needs out of their pockets.  The Back-To-School program allows young people enjoy education with the hope that they will break the cycle of generational poverty through education.
