Diaper Distribution Program
Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank’s mission is to distribute free diapers to low-income families in the Greater Cincinnati area while raising awareness of the basic health need for diapers. Over the past five years, Sweet Cheeks has distributed over 5 million clean diapers to families in Hamilton, Clermont, Butler, Warren, Adams, Brown, Campbell, Kenton, and Boone Counties. A grant from the Dater Foundation supported the Diaper Distribution Program, specifically supporting two integral staff roles, the Program Director and Community Engagement Coordinator. Both roles truly make the Diaper Distribution Program possible, coordinating agencies, filling orders, controlling inventory, leading volunteers, and managing all survey data to understand outcomes from diaper distribution.
Almost 4,000 children receive a supply of diapers from a Sweet Cheeks partner agency every single month. The Dater Foundation grant allowed Sweet Cheeks to increase operations, distributions, and the Diaper Distribution Program’s overall reach. Sweet Cheeks distributed 2,290,310 diapers in 2020 – a 147% increase over 2019!
While COVID complications changed the way Sweet Cheeks operated, limited volunteer assistance, and created new challenges for diaper donations and purchases, Sweet Cheeks continued to operate throughout the entire year, never missing a month of distributions. The best feedback Sweet Cheeks receives is directly from those who receive diapers, one such client says: "If not for Sweet Cheeks diapers, I couldn't make it with two kids in diapers. Sweet Cheeks is such a great help for me as I am in school and only working part-time."
