Counseling Program
Epilepsy Alliance Ohio is dedicated to supporting those impacted by epilepsy in local communities by confronting the spectrum of challenges created by seizures. One of the ways in this is accomplished is through the Counseling program, which provides in-person mental health counseling, telephone counseling and support groups for people living with epilepsy, parents and loved ones. A Dater Foundation grant supported continuation of counseling services free of charge. The impact of the Counseling Program can be felt in the thorough satisfaction expressed by the people served. In 2019, 748 individuals were counseled, exceeding the program's goals and objectives. The program has been in existence since 1953.
