Hospitality Network

The Community Meal Center in Hamilton, Ohio provides a safe, inviting, dignified haven where anyone in need can enjoy a hot, homemade meal. The focus is meeting some of the social, physical and spiritual needs of the homeless, working poor and hungry people in our community.  Founded in 2001, the Center serves an average of 300 meals to 100 guests on Monday and Friday evenings at two locations, Zion Lutheran Church and Power Source Church.

In 2020, CMC expanded its mission to offer safe and dignified shelter, especially for individuals and families who have experienced adverse life circumstances and homelessness. The increasing rate of poverty and homelessness among its food service guests inspired CMC to pursue this new initiative, the Hospitality Network (HN). In 2020, the HN supported four women at its Catherine's Hospitality House.  CMC partnered with a local church, leasing a rental house for one year. Simultaneously, a generous donor gifted an 1881 Italianate duplex house to CMC/HN. Previously, it sat vacant for approximately three years and homeless people had been living in this dilapidated house. Currently, many volunteers have donated their time and money to restore this home to its original beauty.  In July of 2021, the renovation is expected to be completed and  it will be affordable, decent, rental property for families coming out of adverse circumstances.  The rental income will be used to purchase food and supplies to sustain CMC's food ministry for years to come.

The Community Meal Center is glad to have a viable model, working together with many community partners to serve those in need.  The Community Meal Center is a community of unity!
