Camp Experience for Youth in Need Since 1937 Camp Joy has been serving the Greater Cincinnati community to provide life-changing camp experiences for underserved populations.  This  Dater Foundation grant was utilized for the creation of online/virtual programming, maintenance of the buildings and grounds, salaries and benefits of a scaled-down staff, administration costs and to help keep Camp Joy in a state of readiness for when on-site programs can resume in full.  Dater Foundation funding helped make possible the delivery of camp-themed care packages to 500 kids from organizations/schools including Boys and Girls Clubs, Children's Hospital, and Roberts Academy. Online activities were made available for campers at the Camp Joy website: https://camp-joy.org/virtual-joy/ have boosted the campers’ spirits in the absence of in-person programming. Limited on-site programs, with health and safety measures in place, have resumed in 2021 for smaller groups, including day-programs for youth in foster care.
