Camp Imagine
For more than 45 years, the American Diabetes Association's Camp Korelitz has served campers age 9-17 from 27 different counties throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Camp Korelitz typically provides over 160 campers, living with diabetes, each year the opportunity to meet other kids just like them while fostering independence, building self-confidence and gaining an awareness of a healthy lifestyle through education, nutrition, exercise, emotional well-being and glucose control. When Covoid-19 emerged, the organization pivoted to alternative programming. Camp Imagine provided eight weeks of virtual camp experiences from June until August. Nearly 200 youngsters participated in at least one session.
