CASA University
ProKids exists because of the over 4,000 severely abused and neglected children in Hamilton County’s child protection system. ProKids vision is a safe, permanent, and nurturing home for every child. The organization recruits, trains, and supports community members to become Court Appointed Special Advocates, known as CASA volunteers. These dedicated CASA volunteers speak up for abused and neglected children and guide them into safe environments where they can thrive. CASA University is ProKids CASA volunteer recruitment and training program. With the support of a Dater grant, ProKids recruited and trained 66 new CASA volunteers during the grant period. Overall, in 2018, ProKids Advocacy Teams, including 267 CASA volunteers, passionately and persuasively advocated on behalf of 887 abused and neglected children. 99% were safe from abuse and neglect and 95% were guided into safe, permanent, and nurturing homes.
