Cincinnati, Ohio, January 7, 2026 – The Charles H. Dater Foundation awarded six grants in December totaling $405,000, including $250,000 award to St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky for its first-ever capital campaign to build a new headquarters and community support hub.
The new 40,000-plus square-foot facility will allow the organization to expand services, deepen partnerships, and create a welcoming, dignified environment for those seeking assistance. Features include doubling the capacity of the food pantry, a multi-purpose room and teaching kitchen, and an expanded call center and guest services area.
Grants made in December:

Economics Center for Education and Research, $25,000. The Student Enterprise Program (StEP) provides more than 6,000 students with real-world applications of economics principles as they set up their own mini-economy in their classroom, save and invest their “school cash,” and create and sell goods and services at Market Madness.
Greater Cincinnati Stem Collaborative, $25,000. Two after-school programs – 3d Printers Club and STEM Bicycle Clubs – meet weekly during the school year with the goal of developing and expanding students’ interest in STEM fields. More than 700 young people participate annually.
La Soupe, $50,000. The Rescue/Transform/Share program rescues perishable food from restaurants and stores where it is transformed into meals by staff and volunteers and then distributed through a network of over 150 agencies, schools, senior centers, churches, food pantries and other nonprofits helping those in need.
